Almost didn't want to go for a reservoir session today. After an entire day of walking in town, my thighs were sore. Just get it over and done with, I thought, since I have to block out Monday to Thursday next week.
It was meant to be a leisure run. Until I heard someone breathing down my neck. Ok, almost literally. This uncle suddenly sped past me after "tailgating" me for a while - hence begun our mini race (I like subtly racing random runners). I was keeping pace well with him for quite some time, until he suddenly went a notch up. Chase as I might, I still lost him after a while.
How come uncles always run so fast?
As a result of that mini race (of course plus the recent regular running), I can't believe I clocked my fastest timing in years for the entire round!
Moral of the story - Always pace the fast ones. Even if you don't outdo them eventually, you'll outdo yourself.
