I'm so glad for this festive week (read: short working week). Managed to catch up with C. It's been only last week that I saw her at a fellow falcon's wedding. But almost half a year since we last caught up over a quiet meal. We spent less time talking about scouts this time round, more about working lyfe. I guess that's a natural conversation transition when you step into the rat race.
And as usual she had good advice - Work is work, don't ever prioritise it highly in your lyfe. No matter how well you do in a company, you'll just be another employee in its history books. Spend more time with your loved ones.
Your job will never love you back. It's a mono-directional pursuit.

Went for Christmas caroling at an IT centre yesterday. Yes, IT centre, set up to keep kids in place, away from any potential bad company they might encounter at the various Internet cafes.
In a nutshell, they were a sea of monkeys. But it didn't end up so rowdily after all. At least most of them seemed to enjoy the singing and of course, the presents. Kind of reminded me of dealing with cadet scouts. Fun and scary at the same time.

Spent more than half a day in bed. Trying to recover from a horrible headache.
I didn't drink last night, and turkeys don't cause hangovers right? Reckoned it must be a combination of sleeping late plus drizzle+aircon and cutting down on caffeine yesterday.
Took the time to send out Christmas smses in bed. Tried crafting an individualised message for everyone, to make up for not sending cards this year. Thank you to those who replied :)
